Truck Sales

Babcock is responsible for the marketing, sales and service of DAF Trucks in southern Africa. We also represent PACCAR Parts to guarantee first class parts availability and supply for DAF vehicles throughout South Africa.

The distributorship of DAF Trucks is a valuable extension to Babcock's representation of leading brands of construction equipment in South Africa.

DAF Trucks is one of the most successful truck manufacturer in Europe and the number one in tractors. DAF offers excellent products, especially specified for heavy duty applications, as well as leading services, which form the key to success in South Africa.

Customers in South Africa are offered a choice of class leading products, like the XF105 for heavy, long distance haulage and the CF85 for a wide variety of applications, including regional and construction transport. The XF105 is available as 6x4 tractor, whereas the DAF CF is also offered as 6x4 and 8x4 rigid.

All these trucks are powered by state-of-the-art 12.9 litre PACCAR MX engines, offering 410 hp in the CF series and 460 hp in the XF105. In the last two years, these Euro 3 engines have been thoroughly tested in a wide variety of applications and under very demanding circumstances by a number of South African transport operators. In total, over 5.4 million test kilometres were accumulated. The result is a tailor-made truck, ready for the job in African circumstances. The 6-cylinder-in-line power plant combines outstanding performance and flexibility, with great fuel efficiency and class leading reliability.

DAF head office in Benoni houses the Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) which services the dealer network throughout southern Africa ensuring parts availability and a technical and driver training centre to ensure all dealers technical and commercial staff are adequately trained to offer the correct service and advice to customers.
