Key customers:
British Airways - Since 2003, we have managed and maintained
British Airways fleet of ground support equipment and vehicles,
guaranteeing availability of over 2,760 assets, 24 hours a day,
every day.
Our bespoke solution optimises the use of assets, delivers value
for money and enables our customer to focus on meeting their day to
day operational requirements. In 2008/9 we achieved a record 99%
critical availability for British Airways and delivered year on
year savings, with the overall contract cost reducing by six per
cent in 2009.
Babcock constantly looks for new and innovative ways of
improving the service we offer. We introduced an all-electric fleet
of baggage tugs at Terminal 5 as part of BA's drive to reduce CO2
emissions. We also introduced, and funded, GPS mapping for the
customers' top 400 critical assets at Heathrow so they can keep
track of each in real time and check their availability.
BAA - Babcock provides fleet management and maintenance for a
fleet of 200 ground support equipment and vehicles at Edinburgh for
leading airport operator BAA.
