Babcock Scientific is an independent, UKAS accredited laboratory for asbestos surveys, sampling and analysis, specialising in the testing and analysis of samples to monitor health and safety in commercial and domestic environments.

Fibre counting
Asbestos fibres in air – sampling, fibre counting, 4-stage clearance and certification
Type 1, 2 & 3 Asbestos Surveys
Occupational Hygiene surveys and testing to monitor the working environment for atmospheric quality – dust, breathable air, solvents, etc – and noise
Face fit testing
Hand and arm vibration testing
Samples analysis
General wet and classical gravimetric chemistry testing including:
Atomic absorption spectroscopy for metals analysis

Babcock Scientific also has an ISO 9001 accredited Calibration Laboratory at Rosyth that calibrates electronic instrumentation and equipment for the measurement of temperature, mass and pressure. An efficient computer based records management system provides an effective re-calibration call-up capability, comprehensive calibration history and location tracing database.
