Our joint aim with the MoD is to produce results that improve the Fleet’s operational effectiveness and deliver value for money to the taxpayer, working in a partnering environment where civilian and service people contribute effectively together. Currently 1,485 of our people are directly employed at Faslane and Coulport, with some 214 Royal Navy and 51 MoD personnel being seconded to BIS by the MoD to service the contract.
.At HMNB Clyde BNS is responsible for the management of all submarine and surface ship maintenance and supplies key ancillary services, including logistics, facilities management and the provision of hotel accommodation for sailors.
