Baggage Handling Systems
As a systems integrator we work in close partnership with our
customers to ensure their needs are fully met. We achieve this
through providing best in class process engineered solutions, based
on the most appropriate range of equipment, either supplied by the
Babcock product portfolio or other specialist equipment
providers.
Babcock uses its unrivalled baggage processing and operational
knowledge, together with its specialist engineering skills in
automated handling and control systems development, to deliver the
optimum through-life performance in terms of cost, efficiency and
reliability.
We employ over 900 skilled personnel with experience in baggage
system design, control systems development, operations, maintenance
and general airport-based baggage services. These unique skills and
experience ensure that Babcock is recognised as an industry sector
leader in the provision of through-life integrated solutions to
airport baggage handling and management requirements.
Airside Solutions
Babcock works in partnership with customers to ensure that their
fleet of vehicles and specialist equipment is available 24 hours a
day, every day.
As fleet management specialists, we specify and buy a range of
ground support equipment on our customer's behalf, standardising
the range of vehicles utilised and consolidating buying power. This
approach means vehicles cost less to buy, maintain and
operate.
Our bespoke solution optimises the use of assets, delivers value
for money and enables our customers to focus on meeting their day
to day operational requirements.
Through a comprehensive fleet management contract with
British Airways, we manage and maintain over 2,760 assets - ranging
from passenger buses and scissor lifts, to 70-tonne aircraft
pushback tractors - ensuring they are available when and where they
are needed.
Maintenance of the fleet is provided by Babcock at airside
workshops at Heathrow, Gatwick, and Manchester where our skilled
engineers provide preventative maintenance and scheduled
repairs.
