Government-funded training
Babcock works with a number of government bodies
throughout the UK to provide funded training to employers and
learners as follows:
- Across England, Babcock has a contract with the Skills Funding
Agency (SFA), which is responsible for all post-16 education and
training in England.
- In Wales, Babcock works with the Welsh Assembly Government to
provide training programmes.
- Throughout Scotland, Babcock works with Skills Development
Scotland. Within Northern Ireland, Babcock works with the
Department of Education and Learning for Northern Ireland
(DELNI).
Babcock also works with a number of funding partners to provide
bespoke funding across certain areas of the UK, including:
- Train To Gain - this scheme provides funding for learners over
the age of 25 throughout England (subject to criteria)
- European Social Funding (ESF) - across the UK many ESF schemes
are available, which vary in scope and provide funding for learners
and unemployed people in certain sectors.
- National Employer Service (NES) - run by the SFA in England,
the NES scheme provides a single source of funding for large
employers (employing more than 5,000 employees across multiple
sites).
Funding Criteria
Funding criteria can vary in different regions of the
country and can be subject to change. However, the standard
criteria people must satisfy to undertake an Apprenticeship with
Babcock is as follows:
- Learners should be working more than 16 hours a week.
- Learners must not be attending full time government-funded
education
- Learners are citizens of the European Union.
