BNS Nuclear Services is a new name on the UK nuclear ‘landscape’.  It combines the proven capabilities and track records of ALSTEC’s Nuclear Division and INS Innovations Ltd and is establishing itself as a major engineering and site services contractor to address the large project and services opportunities that are emerging within the UK’s mature nuclear market sectors.

With capabilities that span the industry’s life-cycle requirements for high-integrity materials handling, process plant and control systems engineering and with over 800 directly employed staff,  BNS Nuclear Services aims to provide cost-effective and practical solutions for:

• commercial nuclear operating / production facilities
• ‘new build’ requirements to support the legacy clean-up and decommissioning programmes
• fuel routes and fuel handling
• design, supply and integration of special purpose systems and equipment
• waste and nuclear materials handling, processing and storage
• interim and long-term storage of spent nuclear fuels and ‘exotic’ nuclear waste materials

Our preferred style of engagement with customers and other contractors is partnerships, alliances or frameworks underpinned by a long-term relationship.

BNS Nuclear Services is also able to draw upon the additional skills within the Babcock Marine organisation, where there is a nuclear-related manpower resource of all types of more than 2,000 personnel.  Babcock Marine is the Royal Navy’s strategic support partner for its nuclear-powered submarine flotilla and a major owner, operator and licensee of a nuclear site in its own right.
