Babcock’s Marine division is the major support partner to the Royal Navy. The division also provides services to customers in the civil marine markets and has one of the largest naval design capabilities in the UK.
Key activities include:
- Sole provider of support to the Royal Navy’s submarine fleet at HMNB Clyde and HMNB Devonport in Plymouth. Services include base porting, refitting, refueling and decommissioning.
- Maintenance of the Royal Navy’s surface ship fleet at HMNB Devonport, HMNB Clyde and Rosyth Dockyard.
- Assembling next generation aircraft carriers at Rosyth Dockyard and key member of Aircraft Carrier Alliance
- Providing integrated technology capability to both civil and military customers including developing a range of defence systems and commercially engineered products
- Canadian Navy submarine fleet engineering support
- Both hard and soft facilities management of HMNB Clyde and HMNB Devonport naval bases
- Supply chain and procurement services for the British Armed Forces including provision of the Jackal 4x4 patrol vehicle in active service in Afghanistan.
