Babcock is committed to keeping the local community involved and up to date on its proposals for the South Kirkby facility. As part of the ongoing engagement programme, we have established a Community Liaison Group (CLG), made up of 15 members, drawn from the local community, elected members from the Town and District councils, WMDC officers, and other stakeholder organisations such as the Environment Agency.
In the first instance, the main objective of the Group was to encourage discussion between interested parties on issues relating to the planning application for the South Kirkby facility. As the scheme is now approved by WMDC, the Group will evolve into a forum for discussing issues on matters as the construction and operation of the facility going forward.
