Babcock is the major industrial support partner to the Royal Navy. We also provide services to customers in civil marine markets and offer one of the largest naval design resources in the UK.

Submarines
Babcock is the Royal Navy’s strategic support contractor for its nuclear-powered submarine force. With approximately 3,500 personnel employed on this activity, it covers all aspects of in-service engineering and support:
· Hull and systems
· Nuclear reactor and secondary propulsion plant
· Combat systems
· Strategic weapons systems

Warships
Babcock currently carries out 75% of the annual maintenance and refit load required to support the Royal Navy’s surface ships. Approximately 1,000 of its own personnel are associated directly with these activities across all of its sites. Babcock will also assemble the Royal Navy’s two future aircraft carriers at its Rosyth facility.

Naval Bases
Babcock provides engineering support to the Royal Navy operational Fleet as well as the maintenance, management and upgrade of complex engineering plant, equipment, buildings and utility distribution infrastructure, both nuclear-implicated and non-nuclear at the Clyde and Devonport Naval Bases.

Simulator Support
Babcock provides simulator provision, full end-to-end training, support and maintenance for the naval aircraft controllers for the Royal Navy School of Aircraft Control and Fighter Control at RNAS Yeovilton.
