Babcock now has the capability to deliver engineering support services across the Middle East and North Africa, following the October 2009 opening of the Regional Head Office in Abu Dhabi.

Initial activities in the region will focus on Facilities Management, Military Training, Military Aviation Support, Nuclear, Energy and Land Systems.
Facilities Management
Babcock works as an integrated solutions provider, offering expertise in estates, building and life cycle asset management for over 15,000 properties and associated assets in the UK, for the Ministry of Defence and other public and private sector organisations.

Military Training
Babcock’s unrivaled team of training professionals is able to provide a complete military training solution that is second to none. In the UK, we support the Royal Air Force, the Royal Navy and the British Army, as well as other important overseas forces across the globe.
Royal School of Military Engineering (RSME)-
An example of our partnering relationship with the British Army is our 30-year contract with the RSME This partnership brings together the best qualities of industry, academia and the UK Armed Forces to deliver acclaimed training, enabling Royal Engineers to meet the needs of the Army and Defence on operations.
Flying Training-
Babcock’s training activities have included the delivery of elementary and multi-engine flying training on a tri-Service basis to the UK Armed Forces. We are also responsible for all aspects of equipment supply and engineering support including the provision of a fleet of T67 Slingsby Fireflies at the Defence Elementary Training School (DEFTS).
Flight Simulator Maintenance-
Babcock provides training simulator maintenance for the Harrier GR9/7 full mission simulators at RAF Wittering.
Military Aviation Support
Babcock has unparalleled experience in delivering first-class maintenance solutions and engineering services to the UK Ministry of Defence in direct support of mission critical activities.
Asset Management-
Babcock plays a significant part in the delivery of Integrated Operational Support (IOS) contracts. Under the Hawk IOS contract, Babcock supports the entire UK-based Hawk TMk1 fleet, maintaining the aircraft and ensuring availability for their vital role in the fast-jet pilot training at RAF Valley, RAF Leeming, RNAS Culdrose and RNAS Yeovilton.
Multi-Activity Contract (MAC)-
Babcock operates a MAC for the Royal Air Force providing logistical, airfield and administrative support to RAF Valley. Airfield support activities include the maintenance and repair of airfield navigation and communication aids, as well as a Fire and Rescue service that provides 24/7 cover.
Equipment Support-
Babcock commenced the wheels and brakes element of its Commodity Availability Procurement System (CAPS) contract in January 2009. Babcock is responsible for the maintenance of over 1,000 wheel and brake assemblies for the Hawk, Harrier, Nimrod and VC10 aircraft.
Nuclear Power
Babcock is one of the largest specialist nuclear support services organisations in the UK operating across all market segments and levels.
Capabilities include: concept and detailed design; environmental and safety case justification; equipment manufacture; infrastructure operation and maintenance; reactor outage support; environmental monitoring; waste management; facility decommissioning; environmental surveys and site remediation. , 2009, Babcock announced its purchase of the UKAEA Ltd from the UK Atomic Energy Authority.
Energy
Babcock operates in the high voltage power transmission and distribution markets in the UK and Africa and provides specialist oil pipeline services in the US.
Capabilities include: end-to-end delivery of high voltage power line installation in the UK and South Africa; maintenance and engineering support for existing and new build power stations in South Africa.
Land Systems
Babcock also develops and builds land systems including the Jackal 2 4x4 patrol vehicle and the newly launched Zephyr.

In the Middle East, Babcock is keen to develop strong relationships and partnerships with armed forces; police forces; government departments, particularly relating to Energy and Education, and private sector organisations operating in these areas.
