Testimonial
“On behalf of Babcock Marine Division, I wish to convey our appreciation of Babcock performance in presenting and achieving scheme design... The amount of effort that has been put into developing the design to the current level has been extraordinary in such a short space of time, and the professionalism and commitment of your team has been recognised. Furthermore, your willingness to work collaboratively with Atkins Bennett, Yokogawa and ourselves for the common benefit of the project is also noted and appreciated.” Mark Robinson, DDLP Facilities Project Manager, Babcock Marine Division.

The Babcock pedigree
Babcock pedigree in the construction of the UK’s earlier generations of civil power and process plants positions it well to support the current operators of the Magnox, Advanced Gas Cooled and Pressurised Water Reactor plants, as well as the commercial operating plant and legacy facilities under the stewardship of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and similar facilities overseas.
Babcock specialises in systems for the dry storage of spent nuclear fuels and ‘exotic’ waste materials, based on its patented Modular Vault Dry Store concept. First used at Wylfa power station, the concept has been progressively developed to address economic, operational, design code and modern regulatory demands. Other installations have been built in the USA and in Hungary.
Babcock has an excellent pedigree in the provision of engineering designs, plant and equipment to support the Sellafield site reprocessing activities, Mox fuel manufacture, decommissioning and plant modifications.
